We offer to residential firms:
- Sales and Design Representation (full contact with client)
- Design Only Services (minimal contact with client).
- Drafting/Rendering (no contact with client).
To whom:
- Landscape installers.
- Landscape design/build companies.
- Home renovation/addition contractors.
Fee Structure:
- Sales and Design: Fee is a percentage of the gross value of the project.
- Design Only: Fee is typically lump sum ranging between $2,000 to $15,000
Qualifications:
- Contractor must be willing to enter into a written agreement with JVLD outlining the terms of the arrangement.
- Contractor must generate the lead, JVLD takes this position so as to avoid conflicts of interest amongst the multiple contractors we work for.
- Contractor must be willing to review and approve the design/estimate/proposal prior to contract execution. JVLD’s fee is paid at the start of the project, thus it is based on the estimate and thoroughness of the scope outlined in the contract, not on final profitability.
- Project budgets must range from the mid/high five figures and up. In state minimums are 5- to 6-figures. Once a project is in the six figures, there is no real geographical limit, although nominal travel expenses may apply for out of state travel.
- Contractors must be in a position to provide unit pricing (for estimating purposes) and marketing materials (brochures, a functional website and portfolio pictures of existing projects).
- Contractors should have a list of references that a prospective client can call.
- Contractors must have either 5 years of company history or within the industry.
- JVLD does not offer project management or permitting services unless under special circumstance.
- JVLD does not offer these services in the commercial setting.
Deliverables
When offering ‘Sales & Design’ representation, JLVD will provide the following:
- Full set of buildable drawings, ready for permit (typically detailed schematic level detail with dimensional layout drawings if appropriate).
- A digital estimate sheet with unit prices and quantities.
- A fully executed contract on company letterhead with template verbiage.
- All sales calls and design development associated with closing the project, however many visits or design modifications are required.
- A pre-construction meeting (in office or via phone conference) and/or layout meeting (onsite).
- Any visits to the site that require clarification to contractor or client (excludes regular project management).
- Turnaround time: Most six figure projects can be completed within weeks, not months.
